yeah get a glove and go michael jackson style...

fine, Gloves :p

IF you really think youll be looked down upon that bad for wearign "mechanic" gloves ro whatever, put a sock over the knob.

Just a passing thought from one cheap skate to another... You could take a trailer hitch ball that wasn't abused, polish it, drill it and tap it and voila.... Its so white trash though!

i just got a mockup of the momo raptor...i like it...sits a bit lower then the stock shifter and has a nice forward curve taht fits the hand well

the counterweight seems awesome n all, but my cars interior is all black/grey, cars black, rims r black, windows r dark tinted, so it matches the black leather knob....i dont think the crome will look nice with everything else black, what do u guys thing? u guys think i shud get it? ne ways of painting it black?

Razo has a 340gram blackchrome ball... I had one in my car for a while, but I ended up going back to the stock knob. I can't grip the round shape that well...plus leather feels better :)

I think you should get it and put the black sticker on it (you get to choose between black, white, or gray).

I have both the 2g leather knob and the greddy counterweight knob. I really like them both. The 2g gives it a stock look but the greddy is heavy and all business. Yes the greddy gets very hot and very cold. I usually keep the 2g knob with me or a sun glasses bag. The sunglass bag serves two purposes. To clean my sunglasses and as a cover for the greddy knob when its too hot or too cold.

I got that Razo shift knob with the carbon fiber wrapping on it, whatever its called. someone put it on the car before i bought it. it looks okay, but i'm going for a momo. The only thing wrong with it is the top of the knob is yellowed... i guess those razo knobs do that? i'll sell it if anyone wants it.

dont remember if i posted in this thread before but i couldnt find it....

anyhow, i went to autozone (yes yes, i know...) and i picked up an 8ball shift knob, tapped it, and threaded it on. feels so good! it is pretty heavy and feels nice in my big hands, but it might feel nice in your small hands to :p

people always compliment me on it and say how good it feels when i let them feel it. and it only cost like $12 or something. dunno, just something to look at.

Does? the greddy counterweight live up to what everybody says? every post ive read about it said its great and im looking into buying one... give your opinions good or bad :) :dsm:

I love my counter weight, Only thing i didnt like was the polished finish. So i sandblasted it and it feels and looks so much better. Ill post some pics if I get a chance. But :thumb: all the way.

Here's my car. I had a Greddy Counter Weight in my last car, loved it, bought another one right away when I got my spyder.

Everything goes in to gear so much easier, you just have to flick it basically, not actually move it. Nice round shape fits nicely in your hand... looks pimp too!

Downsides: Gets hot and cold, scratched easily. I live in minnesota, and I have a convertible, so i see the extremes of the weather. In the winter, I always wear gloves, but its so damn cold i would anyway; in the summer, it gets hot if you leave it in the sun, but honestly it doesnt stay hot forever.

Also, if you wear a ring, or whatever you'll notice the finish gets scratched easily. Oh well, they are cheap enough!

overal out of 10 : 9

This knob is very nice. Great upgrade for any shifter. It is alot smaller then i thought it was going to be, and thats a good thing. Its heavy too, i was very suprised at the weight of it but it did seem to make shifting a bit smoother. I would recommend it for anyone. :thumb: :talon:

It came in today, i love it! fits my hand a little small but it'll do (i have big hands) but the finish stands out a bit but thats what i was looking for. thanks for all the replies! :thumb: :dsm:

does the greddy counterweight screw on like the stock knob? and if it does, does it screw down so its flush with the boot like the stock knob?

im pretty sure it screws down flush with the boot, but im not 100% sure. can someone confirm?

it does just screw on stock knob but is not flush with boot. I took the little "ring" out from the boot (you will know what i mean when you look at it) then tucked and zip tied the boot to the knob then slid under the greddy knob.

pictures would be great, because im hoping to get the b&m short shifter soon

I have the couterweight and love it, yes it does get warm when its hot outside but one thing I never considered but found out is that it turns into solid ICE on cold days. SOLID FU6KING ICE. with condensation and everything. but I love it. who knew.
