I read through a lot of the posts when it comes to the knock sensor. A few of them mentioned that when running a new wire from the KS to the ECU it needs to be "shielded" wire. Can anyone confirm if this is an absolute or not. Getting ready to install a KS in my converted N/T and really need to know.

Well, it sounded in the other posts as if they meant a wire that is somehow shielded against what I'm guessing to be interference of some kind, so that noise isn't picked up through the wire itself giving the ECU a false knock signal?? Does anyone know if I am correct on that?

Keeping it away from the ignition circuit, in particular, will help a great deal. If you're worried and cheap, you could wrap the wire a few times in foil, and ground the foil.
