Sheared 2 intake cam dowel pins.

Ok car over heated put new head on. For short.

Time the belt correctly.

Car starts runs for 2 seconds shuts off.
Will do this none stop but never just stay running

After going throw a ton of threads and trying to figure that problem out. One of the times trying to start it it stopped hard then sounded like no comp in the motor.
Cam gear bolt broke and sheard the dowel pin in the cam. I have bc 272 cams btw and car ran fine befor overheating. Don't think it's the cams.

Ok so replaced cam and same thing happens again.

? Is y am I breaking the dowel pin on my cam. Intake side both times?
Also why the hell won't it run. Have filled in profile yet so here is whAt I know a out the motor

New 16g
Factory housing with deleted internal
Obx header with external wg
Big intercooler. Don't know brand
Bc 272 cams.
Bc seats and keepers and springs.
240 injectors ..... Yes I know. Got the car that way.
Recirculated bov
Kn intake
Only has vac to the fuel press reg. haven't check into that yet


Anyways any info into y this keeps yapping would be awsome so I can move on with building this car. Any more info needed please lmk.

Did you check the "new" head you installed for warp?

You may have a cam bind issue.

Drop the timing belt, and remove the cam caps and followers.

Install the cam, now see if you feel and rock to the cam, place your thumbs on the first and last cam journals. if you feel any up and down motion then the cam towers are not indexed.

If that is ok, install the cam caps and torque to spec, you should be able to spin the cam with your fingers.

If the cam has no rock, and spins with finger tip pressure, then the issue is not in the cam towere or cam.

Yes was new head from shop.

Caps appear perfect. There is no Wierd wear signs on them.

I will take rockers out and try this in the morning.
