Well I finished putting everything together and started the Talon today. After 15 months of sitting, she fired right up! Ran a bit rough at first then everything smoothed out. Still idles a bit high, so that will be the next thing I look into. No leaks of any kind (yet). No belt squeal either. All and all I am really happy with how it runs. I put 10 miles on it today.

Here she is at the gas station getting some fresh gas.

Make sure you are breaking it in properly.

I am, I read that article on how to properly break in an engine about 4 times over. I have 10 miles on it so far.

You are supposed to let it warm up and then do some 3rd gear pulls on it and let it slow down itself (don't use brake). I would think you would do that for awhile (more then 10 miles) no?

That's exactly what I did. It says about 20 miles of doing that. So 10 more to go of doing that. Then another 100 or so of heavy driving. Then change the oil.
