So I put in my HID lights earlier and they didn't turn on. I tried to plug the connector that solves the polarity in the other way but I couldn't. I didn't try that hard but I looked at the connector and there was a groove in one side of it in between the black and red wires. The plugs also looked slightly different. I still tried to push it in the other way but I didn't push that hard because it looked like it would just break something because of my observations about the connector. How do you do this?? Is the socket it plugs into able to have the connector turn around even though there is a groove on one side and the sides of the connector look slightly different? Everyone states this step as if it is as easy at "just flip the connector around if the lights don't turn on" but I am not seeing it that way.. Please help!! I want these to work. So much for a 30 minute install, haha. :hmm:

Oh yeah and I know the bulb is the correct one and I know that none of my wires melted so that is not the problem. The only possible problem is the twisting of the connector to reverse polarity.

Those things are funny in that you have to run the ground directly to something metal. The supplied ground from the OEM headlamp plug will not be sufficient.

That's not needed.. there is sufficient ground coming from the head light harness; it's the fog lights that have an issue with grounding and powering the HID balast

'95,
You can switch it, but the thing is that the connector on the other side you said is squared.
All you really need to do is, while you are inserting the connector, lift the tabs up-ward with a small flat head screwdriver and they should pop right in. Those tabs should not break, they are surprisingly sturdy, and even if you manage to break one they are pretty snug in there, and should not come out.

woohoo!! i got them to work, flipping that connector is a walk in the park, i was just a little hesitant yesterday. i would reccomend 4000k's though, 6,000 are a little bit blue. i had another question now: i want to get hid's for my high beams and was going to get 55 watt 4000ks. my question is, should i put the 6000k 35 watts in my high beams and put the new 55 watt 400ks in my lows or just leave them? i want to be as legal as possible so if the 55 watts are going to shine too far for low beams i would rather keep the 35's in there and put the 55's in the high beams where they will be most useful and legal.

There's no point in having an HID system in your high beams unless you're planning to off road in dark areas IMO.
They dont get used much and if some one cuts you off you have to wait for them to heat up to blind them, which i think is funny..

I would recommend some silver stars, since they shine better than other halogens.

The high beam is also aimed higher, and the 9005 bulb has no painted area in the front, unlike its 9006 counter part; so the 9005 has a brighter shine.

can i switch the lights around and put the 9006's in my highs and have the 9005's in the lows? that would be backwards but the connectors and power supply seem the same for both the high and low beams so I dont know why it would matter. I should have gotten 55 watt 4500k 9006's for the lows.. too bad.

You cannot. The connector, and the three tabs are positioned slightly different so when you attempt to do it, it will not fit and you will struggle to try to get them in.
(I tried once on my 1G already, a long time ago)

If you want, I have a link on ebay for hid lights that I get for rediculously cheap, I go there all the time, and have not had a single bulb fail. My vendor sells 4300K also; I have them on my car. Ill post some pics for you when it gets dark..
