Saskatoon,
well i just got a MBC, and i installed it, and i went out to test it, and set it, and at first it seemed to only add 1 psi, even after i changed it, then in changed it again, and put it in 5th gear and pushed the throttle open all the way, and then i just started to climb as though it was spoolin' up, and it hit around 15-16 before i just took my foot off the petal.( i did turn it up quite a bit, because i hadnt noticed a difference yet) so im just here to ask a few questions about this. did i just set it to high? or when setting the boost, should i be setting it so that the max boost is when i am at WOT?

any insight is appreaciated, thanks

Of course you set it for full throttle. Do you have an aftermarket boost guage? Also I would set it in 3rd gear instead of 5th.

okay ive got another question now. i had originally had some boost creep, which was cured, but when the car is boosting, it goes to around 11 in 3-4, then in 5th with WOT its climbs up and past the 10 marker and i believe was still continueing to about the 14-15 before i let of the gas. am i once again plaqued with boost creep?

i do have an aftermarket boost gauge. it is not new, as far as i know, its been in the car the whole time ive had it(25 days) and when you said set it in 3rd gear, you mean just put it in third, max the boost, then adjust and repeat

If your boost climbs to a certain psi than stops, and climbs a little more, thats boost creep.

If your boost climbs to a certain psi and stops, that's where it's set at.

It doesn't really matter what gear your in to check the boost level, except for first, because you'll get through it too quickly to make an accurate measurement. If your still on the 14b, as long as your past 2600 rpms or so, you can check the boost level accurately.

Loosen the boost controller.
Get into third gear and floor it.
Look at what your boost guage is reading.
If reading to low tighten the boost controller alittle.
Repeat...

Why do you need to go full throttle in 5th gear?

Is this the Voodoo boost controller were talking about? If so, which one do you have?

If not, what brand BC is it? Ball and spring only, bleeder only, or ball, spring, and bleeder?

i have the voodoo III MBC, i believe its a bleeder+ball and spring, because theres a little hole on top of the controller, and it says in the instructions not to block this hole. Also it seems, that when im not at WOT then the boost will stop at a certain psi, but if i push the gas petal, it will go up. i think that the boost is creeping

Take the boost controller off. If the car feels right then put a different boost controller on. I think you should find somebody local that knows what they are doing and have them take the car for a ride.
