Selling my car....got an offer....a little strange..please help!

alright guys...i put my car up on autotrader last week. I got an email from some email address that looked like a small used car dealership kinda i think. They said they had a client reeady to buy my car for $10,300, and to email them back with my lowest offer. I emailed back and said the $10,300 was acceptable. 4 days later I get an email back from them today saying:


Happy to tell you that we have concluded with our
> client and he has instructed to carry on with the

Seems a little weird. Is there anything wrong with this, can you guys help explain the process so I can understand, and if there is ANY POSSIBLE way that I can get ripped off a car from this transaction? Thanks!

Well yes.. and if you can duplicate watermarks and microprint on checks.. you need to be dealing in more than just car scams...

Well right, duplicating security features on checks would require some talent, but the average joe who gets a money order in the mail isn't gonna be looking for these sort of things. Obviosley the bank will know when they try to look up the account and routing numbers. I mean I've seen some damn good forged 20, 100 dollar bills. WHat I meant was a certified check ain't worth crap if it ain't real and it would be your loss for trying to cash it.
