Second time out...not too bad for a t-25 i think...

Damn almost 100 mph, thts what i would hope for with a dp and test pipe. It might just be my inexperience with drag racing, but 14.3 seems damn good on a 2.4 60'! I only ran like 1 mph slower than you with the same 60' (2.44) and all i got was a 14.7. O well, the downpipe will come after the new turbo so i dont think ill have a full exhaust run with the t-25. hey larry what was ur best time with the big28...and on wht kinda 60 footers. Thanks!

hey larry... maybe u could help me out a bit. Exactly what do you do different at the track, then from street. On street I have no problem launching but at the track.. OMG!!

Oh and before I was running 13psi and would launch at 3,500 rpm... now I'm running 16psi and I gave to launch at 4,000. Is that normal?

FlaToUt-GST..on the Big28 my best run was 13.719 @ 109.46mph with a 2.344 60ft time.. as you can see my launches arent the best but I can shift pretty well to make up the difference.. that was also on C16 race fuel at a lil over 20lbs of boost.

CL MaNTis.. I honestly dont do anything different at the track.. I know launching at the track and street are completely different because the track is alot grippier but if you get a feel for it thats all that you can do.

well... that was the first time i went to a track, do you think i'll do better after a couple of visits? I only managed to get 1 lauch that was pretty decent.

do you recommend higher reving when lauching? or lower? I was lauching lower than usual because i felt like i was spinning forever.

thanks

I have been to the track twice, and although i ran a better time and mph, still didnt beat my best 60'. Just have to supress the nerves...and i HATE having the windows up and not being able to hear the car as well. Guess ill get used to it!

i think everyone gets better with practice.. lord knows no one is going to do their best their first time out..

Everyone launches their car different depending on their own particular setup.. I have to slip the clutch out really high on mine right now

I have found that the best way to launch for me is to rev at about 3200 or so just enough to gt the turbo to spool but not enough to smoke the tires. Dump the clutch and feather the gas just enough to keep traction. Once I get it rolling enough that it's not going to smoke the tires I just lay it down. That was on my t-25. With the big 28 I have to be easy on the gas in 1s and easy into 2nd and then I just stomp it. Try everything until you find something that works. Everyone has there own way. Some work better than others that's why driving can make a huge difference. The real key I think is to be able to adjust according to traction.

I pulled a 14.3 running 15 psi, with pretty much as much as you could do bolt-on, Greddy BigFMIC and all when I had my 99 GS-T. Went to a GSX so I could actually use the power when I upgrade to a Big16G or BigT28 :)

Yea i wish i could go out and get an AWD...cuz FWD sucks :p! I'm only 16 tho, so i'm stuck with what i got (which aint too shabby!) :)

Hell yeah :) I would have killed for a 97 GS-T when I was 16. Although out of my entire class I did get voted best car with a pimped out brand new 97 civic. I graduated 4 years ago so this was before the scene blew up out here in Ohio.

But I'm getting off topic, get that T-25 off and put on a 14b which is an excellent upgrade for a small amount of $. It can actually boost up to 20psi and is relatively efficient at that level with race gas. Should put you into the 13s if you can get that launch down :thumb:

...well i had ordred a 14b off the trader, but it was cracked to hell..thank god for escrow. Escrow is verifying my payment on a big 16g as we speak :D ...damn i cant wait!! Just gonna take time to get the money for dp tp 550's afc logger ect etc. to make it run at best. Im hopin for high 13's with 2.3 60' with the big 16g...probably dreamin though.

With that 60' time that would be the EXACT time I would have posted if I was driving a GSX, instead of my 14.29 with my GS-T. Now you know the reason I switched, L2R next year hopefully, I cannot stand this T25. I'll probably end up with a B16G until I can afford the L2R :thumb:

i know what you mean...just lookin at the boost guage as you go through the traps and its down to like 11 psi from 15. Thats when happened when i decided to bypass the DPand Tp (for now) and go straight for the turbo. Even without full support, at least the 16g will hold the boost to redline, that should be a huge improvment right there. Of course...the dp tp and such will come next...

Yeah being able to hold boost until redline is something that is only a luxury of those "big turbo" guys  I would definitely keep the boost low since you still have the stock dp and cat. You are going to be generating a lot of heat since the turbo is going to pretty much be choked to get that hot air out. But if one thing is for sure, I'd take 13 psi or so from the BIG16 anyday before I would take 16-17 psi on this hair-dryer of a turbo Garret calls a "T25"

ok quick question im gonna run at the track for my first time soon , me driving that is ... i have neva driven down the track once yet , anyways im on regular street tires i know im gonna most likley have a problem out the hole , i have changed all my motor mounts i think i have polyurathine in there now would i be good with Drag radials?

First thing to know is your are never good on a FWD car unless it is setup for drag-only. Drag radials will definitely help your launch, but if you really want to get those 60' times down I would recommend firstly a suspension drop, then a strut tower bar, or if you have a lot of cash go for a LSD. A LSD will help your 60' the most out of the bunch but they cost upwards of $850 :( Choose your poison :)

97GSXAT is that not toofasteclipse old car...i helped him build it..in fact...he got most of his kit from me...well sad to see you selling it..the inside took forever....good luck on ur new ride

problem i found is that when i get a good 60' i lose all top end b/c i gotta shift to 4th.....need exhaust!!!!
