I've been looking online for a colder thermostat but can't seem to find one. I've already gone to autozone, advanced, and O'reilly's. If anyone has a link to a website that still sells these it would greatly be appreciated. I'm looking for a 160 or 170 degree.

Any of the Dsm vendors will be able to get you a coolder t-stat. I personally run a mishimoto 160* t-stat and it keeps my temps in check. The mishimoto also has a much larger opening to allow more coolant to flow through while it is open.

I just bought the 170 off the link above. TY! I hope this helps my overheating issue. Also just out of curiosity what are the symptoms of a water pump going out? I hear the belt squeak right where the waterpump pulley is so I think it may be slipping and that could be the cause for my overheating problem. I'm thinking I'll get the system pressure checked this weekend and probably just get the water pump and belts replaced because I just bought the car.

Yeah, you might as well do the water pump, timing belt, and timing belt tensioner since you just got the car. You might want to look into a balance shaft eliminator kit too while you're at it. The balance shafts turning at TWICE the crankshaft revolutions is never a good thing IMHO.:|

I don't know anything about the eliminator kit. I've read that a lot of people do it but I don't know anything about it. I still have to cut out the lip on the bumper, add some water wetter, replace with the new thermostat and set a 10deg. offset on ecmlink. I hope I can get my car to stay a lot cooler. Probably be a couple weekends before I get everything done.
She doesn't get hot at idle until I put it in gear and start moving it. It stays hot while driving. There's a lack of power which is probably from the ecu reducing timing from overheating? Sometimes after the car is warmed up it revs about 500rpm higher. If I turn on A/C heat or cold it idles much better but as soon as I turn the A/C off it idles high again. The car is also running very lean, I haven't had much time on ecmlink to tweak it but it needs work and I think this is directly affecting the heating problem because as you can see in my avatar I have a tubular header. This thing gets super hot of course and when I give it a little gas it drops about 4 degree's and then goes back up, another tell tale sign of heat by lean.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've been all over the forums and been talking to a local dsm guy. I wish I knew more about troubleshooting this issue, as I read posts I see there are so many things that could be wrong. I just hope it's not the last thing I check 0.-
