Off-topic quiz- Rep points if you can tell me WHY the turbos used on large diesel trucks and even the T04E Garretts which came on older John Deere tractors all had small compressors mated to P-Trim turbines and giant a/r turbine housings.Its most likely a HUGE ( like 40r/HX50 size) turbine mated to about a 40lb/min compressor.

Bullseye T04B V-Trim, circa 2001/2002 = off-the-shelf tractor turbo with a DSM bolt-on turbine housing. Long before the first Bullseye HX35/HX40 turbine housing was cast.Which is why noone used to use old tractor shit, until holsets came along.

You guys are all dancing around the answer I'm looking for.But its probably like he said, to keep the drive pressure and boost way down, and to keep the shaft speed down when the tractor got loaded down real hard with a turned up pump!
