well im about go get a sbr 50trim and im gonna get a tial external wastegate, my question is what will i need for the install, i currently have a 14b on my car, will i have to get a new exhaust mani for the wastegate? bigger oil line?... im kind of a newb but learning... any info would be helpful, thanks alot!...

You'll either need an adapter for the wastegate welded onto the manifold, or you can buy a new manifold that's already set up for an external. SBR can handle either option for you. You're also going to need the G-series feed and return lines and you'll need a section of vacuum hose to block off your coolant lines upon removal of the 14B. It might also be a good time to invest in fresh gaskets for the manifold, O2 and downpipe if you don't have them already.

Call SBR and ask for Jon Nye or Craig Evans. They'll take good care of you and they know their stuff.

Good luck,

Andy

thanks man great info, reps for ya! :thumb:

No worries on the rep but thanks for the thought anyway!

Regarding the G50 it's a Turbonetics hybrid with a Mitsubishi housing so that it will bolt up like stock. My good friend Dan Kasun (project_tsi) has one and it rips pretty good. When you source out a manifold, you'll want something like this:

You can clearly see the blockoff plate that your external would bolt up to.
