if you really want to get the bang for your buck get mega squirt . then do all those mods when i had my gs i was in the same predicament you are in. other then boosting it or using mega squirt i would sell the car and find a gsx that needs some work ..
if you port the head and the intake manifold with a good intake you will get alot better throttle response then i would get a udp from ebay and take it to a a local machine shop and have them balance it. the machine shop should be able to port everything to. for a better price then a shop would.
the 420 isnt bad at all i seen a modded 420a pull on a gst <stock> in seattle a couples weeks ago. it just takes alot more time not money..
the exhuast arent that bad either. the header isnt once you get it welded.
people frown on ebay just cause its whole stock. its like going to walmart ..
and the right sparks plugs. (ngk) will actually improve quit a bit. but what ever you do stay away from the coil overs on ebay. go to usautoparts.com you can get a full sett for around 5 to 600

. The 420a is capable of great power. The availability of parts is what makes it difficult. He isn't going to get a 10 car unless it in the 1/8. Our cars are too heavy to make super fast times in fwd.
shiney.
The only problem with this is there is no proof that one of these swaps has ever worked. Sure at one time he posted pictures of it in the middle of the build, however, no completed pictures and him not following up on the questions at the end usually means it was never completed. It is a ton of work (from what I can guess) and there seems to be no good way to get it all under the hood. You would have to cut the hood and even the firewall and it would take serious modification. Plus he "said" the build could be done for 2000 and then told everyone that his friend gave him his srt4 motor and another friend gave him the turbo off a gsx. Not many people can get an srt4 motor for free so no it wouldn't be only 2000 bucks. Not trying to hate on this dude but untill I see video and some dyno numbers showing that this swap is worth all te work and expense I don't see it as a "affordable" option.
