Hi Guys,
Ok right to it, I changed out my Ebay clutch and flywheel with a Act2100 & 8 lbs. Flywheel. Before I changed it my car was running good. Then my car was running real lean on my wideband. So, I reset everything by disconnecting the battery. The car was running fine again. And now my wideband is showing very lean when I'm on first and second gear, then goes back to normal on third to fifth. I noticed when I'm going up hill it will do the samething. Any suggestion would be a great help to me.

Thank you,
Mark

When you say it goes very lean in first and second, is that WOT, or just cruising?

It happened in both.... I tried stepping on the gas... It would stall in first and second, then I get it to third it's as if it finally catches up and then runs fine..

Sounds like an issue under light load. What are your HI, LO throttle percentages set at? I always had it at I think 25% for low and 26% for high. This way it either uses the LO map or the high. Theres no interpolation between both maps. Try that and see if it helps. What are your fuel settings on the LO and HI maps on the AFC right now?

Here it is...

Hi: 1000 -18%, 2000 -27%, 2600 -28%, 3200 -28%, 4200 -22%, 4800 -23%, 5400 to 8000 -22%

Lo: 1000 -7%, 2000 -27%, 2600 -27%, 3200 -30%, 4200 -29%, 4800 -17%, 5400 to 8000 -15%

TH: 30% - 80%

Mods: 550's, 255 pump, afpr & fuel rail, 16g, act 2100, 8lbs.flywheel, safc2, aem wideband.

Thanks again for the HELP! Chicken Patty!

No problem man! Okay, for your injectors you need to compensate 23.7% over stock. So, looks like your HI settings are okay for WOT. Now, In the RPM's that it goes lean in 1st and 2nd, have you tried adding more fuel?

What AFPR do you have, what's your base fuel pressure at?

It's a Aem afpr & Aem fuel rail... No the shop that installed my parts tuned it also... Now for adding in the high.. I think I was doing out wrong.... Is the higher in the negative taking away fuel or adding? I was going higher in the numbers.. I tried adjusting both high and low when that didn't work I just put I back to where it was.... Oh I forgot to mention when I was doing the clutch my o2 sensor on my exhaust was completely off so I screwed out back... Could the shop have tuned it with the sensor out? Sorry for asking all these questions but I really wanna know how to tune.

Well, it is possible, although I'm sure they would've noticed. However. In the negatives, the higher the # the more fuel you take away. So for example, -20% is taking away more fuel than -15%.

But if they dialed the car in without a o2 sensor and now you put it back, the driveability will change. Don't think it does for WOT though. Under idle/cruise conditions the car is in Closed Loop, the ECU uses feedback from the o2 sensor to know if it needs to adjust the mixture. Under WOT the ECU switches to Open Loop in which it uses the MAF/MAP sensor to determine the fuel it needs to send.

So to sum that up:

Closed Loop - Car uses the o2 to get feedback and adjust mixture accordingly
Open Loop - Car uses MAF/MAP feedback to know how much fuel it needs to dump.

So your WOT shouldn't change with what you explained but your driveability definitely will.

Thank you for breaking it down for me... Now I see what you are saying.... So what do you think I should do to fix my problem? Should I add fuel?

Well, let's keep things simple.

If when car stumbles and goes lean, add fuel at that RPM little by little and see how it reacts. If this is cruising or idle then use the LO map. If its when going WOT, then use the HI map. However, or WOT, you shouldn't need to add fuel. Let me know.

Thanks buddy..... You the man! I will, I appreciate all the help.... Now let me go try and do it.... If anything can I pm you? Thanks again

Thanks Bro, by the way i'm Mark.... you have been a big help!
