Why would you buy all of this stuff before a datalogger? :toobad: Makes no sense to me. 650's and zeroing the safc out will mean really rich conditions. I highly suggest a datalogger now, or atleast borrowing one to get the car tuned to be "acceptable" for now

Get a logger ASAP. The baseline is just a reference start point to begin your low throttle tuning. You can use them but depending on your altitude & other factors your car will not be running optimum.

yeah i know im gunna be getting a logger really soon. but i might need to drive my car before the datalogger gets here. does anyone have opinions on which datalogger i should go with?

I bought a Palm IIIc off ebay for $45 used. There are always a bunch for sale and I like prefer color over some of the older monochrome ones. You will need the software and patch cable from digitaltuning.com.

High's to -30 should be ok, but you really need a logger to set your low's, everyone's lows are different.

I am running 680's and my highs are only -21, timing would get pulled bad if i went to -24 or leaner
Every car is different
Point is, dont go WOT until you have a logger or you are staying way rich, -30 may be way too lean

ok i just got a palm III with the cradle and cable got it for 26 bucks off ebay,
Now all i need it the obd II cable and software from www.pocketlogger.com right? or am i missing something?? let me know guys. im anxious to start tuning this bi***

All you need is the software and make sure that you let digitaltuning know the Palm model you have so you get the correct patch cable and you'll be good to go.

OMG My low throttle settings are -23 and my long term fuel trim is always 0 or +/- 1% which is about as good as it gets and my hi throttle settings are between -31 & -32 all this with Denso 660's. Are you sure those are 680's?

Yes I am sure they are PTE 680's. I am proof that every car is different, you cant just choose someone elses settings and assume you will be fine.

Yep, my lows need to be at -8 to get my STFT to 0, every car is pretty much totally different.

alright so i got my logger in today and ill be tuning tomorrow if i get a battery, what would you guys say for settings on the safc II, put them at the baseline the the tuning guide says and go from there?
also how do i know when to stop making adjustments on the safc???
i need alittle help tuning, this is my very first tune job,,

Sit there at idle and make the needed adjustments to get your STFT to 0 then rev it to 1000 1500 2000 2500 3000 3500 and do the same thing.

Go out and do some 3rd gear pulls to get your high throttle settings.
