ok, ive been around for a bit. and im slowly getting all the basic maintenance work done to my car, timing belt and pulleys crank seal, blah blah. ive got a dejon intake tube, no cat, with (i wanna keep it for a bit) stock muffler. and there will be weight redux. my medium term goal is 13's with this fwd 5spd turbo. now, enough story time, now to my question. im going to sell a intake manifold/throttle body combo off my neon. i might be able to take a partial trade for it in the form of a safc 2. i used one before, tuning isnt a problem, with a logger as well. could i get into the 12's with that? or is the safc needed to do that? once again, stripped interior, weekend warrior car.

the safcII is great for someone who doesnt want to do a whole lot of tuning,im using one,.....if you have a stock ECU the bigest injectors you can use are 650cc, if you want to run anything bigger you will need an EPROM and a chip to support them. .....now if you are going to the track alot and you want to be able to have a street tune and a good tune for racing or to use race gas, you will want to get DSMlink to be able to retune ,....but for a 13 sec goal you can get away with 650cc inj. ,an safcII ,and a 16g turbo, and it will be a great street car that can easily hit that goal.:thumb:

idk yet about the boost levels.. id like to stick with the 14b for a while. like i said, my medium term goals are 13's. 12's later. 16g, bigger injectors and pump, afpr. and thats it mostly.

the 14b is still a good turbo...i was running a 14b on 17lbs ,550cc inj, 255 wally, fpr, and a safcII, and it got on it pretty good....i never took it to the track so i dont know what it ran or how much power it made but i bet it could have ran in the 13s, myns AWD though. id say if you can get an safc for a decent price get it till you plan to go bigger ,like 11s then you might want to think about DSMLink.

I'd say save your money and get dsmlink, you will wish you had it in the long run. If you absolutely must have something now the SAFC is a good starter device although very confusing at first.

im not really too sure if i want to get into modifying the computer much with this car. i might later if i cant reach my goals of 12's. luckily this isnt my daily, so i can take my time.
