SAFC Tunning help, please

I installed an SAFC II on my 1998 GST w/ a 6Bolt Swap. I heard somewhere that it should be set (on the SAFC) to 2 cylinders and not 4 because the 1st gen coil pack communicates with the ECU for only 2 cylinders. The signal is split at the coil pack and distributed to the 4 cylinders. Is this correct or is what I read wrong?

I don't know about 2G, but the reason you hear so many people say to set it to 2-cylinders on a 1G is because the instructions are wrong. If you follow the VFAQ directions and connect it to pin #21 of a 1G ECU, the rpm's read correctly on a 1G. For a 2G, it all depends where you are tapping for the rpm signal. Just select the one that makes the AFC tach read the same as your dash tach. If the AFC reading is always half the dash tach reading, change it to 2-cylinder. Easy enough?

you should have it set to 4 cyl with up arrow, ne points you can play with, I used 30% and 80%
