I have a 95 gst( non eprom) that I've been doing all my maintenance and slowly getting it right where I want it...
But lately I've run into somthing that's confusing me..

The stft is pretty much all over the place....from -16 to +16? Bad enough to where the fuel trim cel comes on.
I'm sure there will be more than one who pops up and says "do a blt" have...all fixed...including rebuilding the tb.

Now what I've just noticed while goin through the logger and trying to figure out what's goin on is that the airflow on logger reads zero at all times? Isn't a 2g suposed to show airflow log?

If I understand correctly the safc tricks the ecu into seeing more or less air...which adds more or less fuel.
I can rotate the knob on the afc settings to richen it up and it definitely works LOL...the stuttering and black smoke proves that...and the stft also reacts to it...but they NEVER stay stable...

I guess to make a long story short what I'm asking are just a few questions..
#1 2g is suposed to log airflow right?
#2 if not logging airflow bad mas?
#3 if not bad mas then possibly bad wiring on the safc?

Any help or experience would be appreciated. .thx

  1. Yes.
  2. Very possible that your MAF is bad, check the wiring on the connector at the MAF too since those wires are known to fray a bit.
  3. Yes. If you've determined your MAF and connector wires are in good working order recheck your SAFC wiring at the ECU. If you need help don't be afraid to post up exactly WHAT wires you have tapping into the ECU from the SAFC, we'll help ya.

What does your front o2 voltage look like while your cars idling? It should be cycling from 0.2v - 0.8v.

  • From your MAF Pin 2 to your ECU Pin 85, its a ORG wire.
  • From your MAF Pin 3 to your ECU Pin 90, its a BLU/YEL wire.
  • From your MAF Pin 4 to your ECU Pin(s) 12 or 25, its a RED wire.
  • From your MAF Pin 5 to your ECU Pin 92, its a BLK wire.
