i need help deciding which to get either a maf translator version 2.02 or a s-afcII not real sure if they do the some thing or not if not which would be better any help would be great thanks lee

Definitly go with the safc, you have way more tuning options. the translator i would say is for VERY LIGHT tuning. with the safc you can fine tune your afrs (air to fuel ratios). Even witht the translator i would say get a safc.but good luck!

Do some research on both of them. there are tons of threads on the two!!!

Depends what your goals are first and foremost.

The MAFT gen 2 lets you dial in your target AFR which is really cool. The newer versions of the MAFT I'd say are much better then the SAFC I +II. Both of these piggybacks are very limited in how much power they can be used for.

If your planning on 350hp plus I'd look into more efficient and practical tuning solutions like dsmlink lite.

He said it was version 2.02 not gen 2. Version 2.02 is just the normal translator. Use them both - GM will flow alot more than stock MAS, so much more that you can feel the difference. Get the injectors dialed in and do a rough setup with the MAFT. The install the SAFC in the ECU harness, make sure you follow all instructions how to wire in the two grounds and how to splice the two airflow signal wires. Go thru all menus of the SAFC and do the initial setup w.o starting the car. Then start the car and do the fine tunuing thru out the RMP range. Make sure you have at least a wideband to look at the changes or even better a logger to look at the trims

So you are saying to use both of them then right?I have the safc2 right now but hate how big the 2g mas is in my 1g so I was thinking of going with the gm just to have more room. Will these 2 work together?

Well this really isn't an option over which one to pick.
Simply if you have a gm maf you will obviously need to have the maf-t.
Now if you're asking which method to use to tune out of the 2 then yes the safc is the better one to use.
