rx7 rims spacers??

i have some rx7 rims installed on my car with the 225/45/16 tires. i had to grind just a bit on the control arms to prevent them from rubbing. i would like to get some 245's on them but i know for sure that it will rub and i dont wanna grind anymore on the control arms. was wondering how big of a wheel spacer would i need to get to run them good. and would i need a hub encentric spacer.?

Hub centric, always. Though some don't seem to care.
I'm not sure on the exact spacing you'll need but I know that the answer is in the handling forum. It's been asked before/someone has come along and shown us what it took to fit fat tires on rx7 wheels.

3rd Gen RX-7s had 16x8 +50 wheels. To run 245/45/16s (which is what most DSMers put on them), you need a 10mm or 15mm spacer, depending on the tire. Therefore, you also want to do a search for H&R wheel spacers. They make a nice (and maybe the only) hubcentric system for our cars. Expect to pay close to $150 plus labor to get these wheels on a DSM. Some people say it's worth it; others don't. You don't see 14.5# 16x8s very often; at least, not without paying through the nose.

my buddy did the exact same things years ago and what i came remember he did was a wheel spacer and extended lug studs im guessing that these are rims from a 3g rx7 considering i know for a fact that the early gens have only 4 lug studs insteading of 5
