You did it to yourself bud. We tried to help you and give you advice, but you wanted to act like an idiot and think were all just haters and do your own thing. THE CAR IS NOT SAFE, i dont get whats so hard to understand. The people that tried to give you advice have A LOT more experience than you, you should have listened and just scrapped the car and started over. If you had acted like an adult and take GOOD advice, we would be willing to help you, but we dont give a shit because its just a waste of breath. If you have never done something before, you need to do research before you just jump in and start cutting shit off a car. We all started somewhere and listened to people with more experience, and that what you should have done. Your the one to blame, not the dsm community.

:applause:

You cannot blame anyone else for your own arrogance. Let alone an entire community.

If you thought that was me admitting defeat your retarted " blaming others" the only thing I am accusing anyone of is being dicks. I'm pissed at all you ####ing assholes and I'm not Gona let it get me all depressed.

How depressed do you think we feel watching you build the worst cage ever?

If you have an issue with my cage state it and and be done with it don't sit here and make posts saying
"My parents must be proud" "I'm a moron" " an idiot" "act like an adult" I'm not sure if you understand how much time I have put into this the past year. Every chance I get to work on it after 12 hour days at work. It's extremely demeaning when you say scrap it. I'm sure half of these posts are from 16-year-old kids.

It doesnt matter if you work on it 24hrs a day, not doing it right is not doing it right. You are an idiot and a moron for not taking our advice. We werent being dicks at first, we were trying to help you, but you just wanted to do you own thing no matter what any of us said. Were all here to help eachother, but when we try to help someone that doesnt really want help, then why are we gonna waste our time? You went about the build completly wrong. You should have gotten the book and found the proper way to do the cage, you should NEVER have cut the firewall out, atleast not without doing proper bracing to the car so it doesnt twist. We tried to tell you this, but you wanted to be stubborn and not listen so we got tired of trying to give you advise that you were never gonna take.

I understand. This Is a car enthusiast form and at the end of the day we all want the same thing and I'd love to be safe while doing it but apparently it's not going to be safe. Just go easy on the comments and try not to make me kill myself

Wow I can't believe this thread is still alive ... I saw it at page maybe 10 or 11 and never tough you would continue to try to prove yourself. It's not a bad thing to make mistake, that's how you learn the faster and even faster when it cost money ...

I think you should take a big breath, sit back and start it all over again if you really want this project.

It can only be better, for you and your car too ...

You brought it on yourself by NOT listening to advice by ppl with vast experience and knowledge in similar projects and have been part of the sport for years.. If you had made the right research and listened to what we have advice you, you wouldn't be where you are. At the beginning your project was salvageable, but you never listened, now at this point is just a pile of worthless metal we can NOT call a race car.

Honestly, if you still have intentions of getting this thing on the road - no offense, but better you instead of a family.

You can actually get this project done in a safe way, you just need to start over. That has been the advice of just about everyone on this forum. Start over, be safe, and do it right from the beginning.

Like gaby said, your the reason it is where it is. It could have been saved if you had listened earlier. If you really want to finish the swap, you just need to admit defeat with this shell, because like we've said for a long time, at this point it pretty much a pile of scrap and is unsafe. Just take the motor out, find yourself another shell and actually listen to what we have to say. If you showed that you really wanted to learn and do this right, we would be more then willing to help. But were not anymore because you dont Really want our help, you just wanna think we were talkin shit.

Definitely not 16 over here bud.

I think around christmas time we all told you that you need to go two routes.

Full cage tied through the "frame rails" and fix the few things you had already done like the 1x1 crap.

Or

Scrap the car because you had already cut the firewall off, save the pile of steel you had and source another car a couple hundred bucks.

Obviously neither of these things happened. You argued with the pros and the backyard builders who have been down this road, made wild claims like, "I don't even care if I can't register it" and not even taking it to get tech inspection afterwards, blah blah blah. You wasted your own time and probably more than your budget, and now you are realizing it. And really? The last words of posts 427, 433... really?

Favorite quote to tell my bull headed buddy, reminds me of this.

"Well, I'm stubborn and wrong, but at least I know it."

Lets think about this for a second though,
risk injury to everyone on the roads while your illegally driving this "project". or
Just have you die and give it up.
Guess which one I choose for you?

I say keep going and finish the project.

And you should be the one to test drive it on a private road. Haha I hope you feel safe with a cage that is going to kill you.

Wow you are a real d1ck if I ever saw one. You are actually hoping and wanting this guy to die huh?

Second there are plenty of vehicles on the road today that are unsafe and have resulted in the deaths of plenty of people. Some of these vehicles are still on the road today for example the Ford Pinto, the Karmen Ghia, and the Corvair not to mention a lot of homemade vehicles I have seen all over America on my many travels around the country. These vehicles are registered and insured and are allowed to be driven so I don't get why most of the people that have decided to reply to this thread are getting so negative and downright nasty.
So the OP didn't take your advice... so what let him learn and figure it out the hard way if that is even what it is.
If what he is doing is bothering you so much and you really don't approve don't click on this thread and definitely don't respond.
Most of you have come here and posted your opinion several times 22 pages worth and the OP hasn't changed his approach and continues the project that just goes to show that he is just as stubborn as those of you who continue to reply with all the negative responses.
I am baffled that a community of car enthusiasts especially this community (DSM) would say some of the things that have been said in this thread.

Im baffled that theres idiots like you and the op in the dsm community. You guys would fit in perfect over in the honda world. :thumb:

At the beginning of this thread I thought to myself at least the guy is taking a stab at this and hey It could possibly work out, But he kept saying he wants people to give him advice (Before it got nasty) he disregarded what people were saying and then just said "Just tell me where to add more bars" which wouldn't add any strength to his car because once the firewall was cut off the structural integrity of the car was shot. Also people were actually worried about this guy's well being telling him his car is unsafe. He just comes back and say's it going on the road regardless (Something along those lines) Which he showed zero concern about other people's safety which is the most arrogant and conceded thing someone could possibly do, After that this clown gets zero respect from me and most of the other people commenting on this thread.

Beaubo if you seriously think this guy is in the right, You need to pull your head out of your ass and see the light!!!:ohdamn: And as you said there are plenty of unsafe vehicles on the road that have caused deaths, We're just trying to prevent something like that happening here!!!!!

I honestly admire the OP's drive and determination. But like previously stated by very very knowledgeable mods and other users the way he's doing things is wrong.....very wrong.
Ignorance doesnt get anyone anywhere in life period. We all have our own ignorant moment's but this has gone way past just a moment.

@OP-I wish I had so many knowledgeable dsmer's so willing to help me succeed as you have just had, they gave you everything you needed TO SUCCEED. Please please for the love of god stop this madness! I'm very willing to bet with your drive and determination you very well could do this rwd swap, but you need the guidence that other here can give you..they aren't all full of "shit" some have years of experience doing just this.

I am not saying the guy is in the right, I am just saying he is obviously not going to listen so why continue with the negativity? How are you really going to stop this guy? Do you think that when you reach a certain post count he is going to say " hey you know what guys you are right I am going to send this thing to the scrap yard you guys were right I was wrong" I don't think so. But apparently I am an idiot and should be wrenching on Honda motors.

This guy posted the car on a public forum for the world to see. That means that he is putting his work out for criticism. If he didn't want to be picked on as some of you say than he shouldn't of posted it thinking that it was ok. You do something like this, there will be criticism. This is the original posters fault and no one else but him. What do you expect everyone to be like, oh good job on effort. At least you tried, that is all that matters. We are not children any more where effort is rewarded. This is the real world where effort is not rewarded. Doing things incorrectly can result in bad things including injury or death to others. This thing is so poorly built that it could break going down the highway by just hitting a pot hole. Tell me what happens when this guy is traveling in a group of cars down the highway and the whole front end breaks off the car. It would be very bad.
