runs like a boost leak..but not

boost leak test results holds 17lbs boost for over 40 seconds. but I have to plug the hole on the backside of my voodoo mbc, fuel pressure gauge says high ..43 at idle and about 55 with the vac hose pulled,I dont know if the gauge is bogus or not ..I got it from ebay so its probably junk,but the weird thing with the pressure is on cold days my baby doesn't want to start on the first go,second time starts right up though.Could the guy that owned it before me put on an aftermarket fuelpump or how could I tell if the return line is plugged.any help with this will be greatly appreciated..One other thing is my car threw a code awhile back for the iac not stepped could that also cause some stuttering problems?

So how does the car run that makes you think it's a boost leak?

I would start with a real fuel pressure guage. Do you have a datalogger? That would greatly help us diagnose the problem.

car runs choppy up to about 2300rpms ,like just before the turbo kicks in and in the beginning of spool but once it hits about 3000rpms up seems pretty good ,sometimes when it is spooling my boost gauge will read ok but the car doesn't respond for a couple seconds,sorry dont have a logger as of yet and no cel either .just have a narrow band o2 and its going crazy even worse than it was before its pinging from side to side so bad I can hear it bottoming out..

This is why loggers, gauges, and software should be the first mods to any dsm, so you can diagnose these types of problems before you get into modding it.
