running rough after getting fixed

I have a 94 Plymouth laser Rs converted to a turbo, it has a 91 6bolt, evo3 big16g turbo and has been bored with p&p head. I got it almost two years ago with a bad headgasket and just now got it back from the shop, incomplete. I know, bulls**t but the mech was "too busy" for it. All the vac lines were off, intake off, pretty much just the motor and trans were just sitting there, and just today I got it running, and its running really rough, its blowing quite a bit of black smoke and sounds like its missing, just put new plugs on it and after running less than 5 mins pulled the plugs and they were burnt and smelled horrible, and the motor was too warm for that short time running. Any ideas as to why this is happening? It sat for almost 19 months without being touched.

Sounds like its running pig rich! Do a boost leak test. Aslo is the fuel new? If its old fuel I'd drain the tank.

Yea but it ran fine before the headgasket went out

It will run fine on 450cc injectors as long as the boost isn't to high. I would start with the boost leak test and check the timing.

Can you put the link for how to do a boost leak test? I'm on my phone 99% of the time and the search button didn't help me here
