Running Gauges Off Battery

I'm going to be running 5 gauges off my battery. I'm taking a 10 awg wire with a fuse in line with it and running it to power a relay. The relay will be triggered by something like the ignition. Then my 5 gauges will be ran off the relay (Which is a 40amp relay). My question is, can anyone tell me what they would use for a fuse on the wire that's coming right off the battery?

Your gauges shouldn't be pulling much amperage. Even 10 awg is excessive for the wiring the gauges in, but that's alright.
You may eventually want to add more gadgets to the circuit, like a WB, that will pull more amps.

A 5 amp fuse should work fine for gauges.

I guess I should have said.. It's a AEM WB, Megan Racing - Boost, Oil Pressure, Volt, Water Temp for now. I also have to wire power to my gauge cluster which has an aftermarket lighting system to it, but that will probably go to something else so it only turns on when i turn my lights on.

I have the 10awg wires because I had an extra fuel pump rewire kit I didn't need, hence the relay also.

Well a 10 amp fuse will easily handle all of that. Even the 5 amp one would probably survive.

I'll just go with the 5 and if it blows, well then a 10 ;p
