running a 20g on 2g sidemount...

What's up I am new to dsm's and I was wondering since I just got a new 20g turbo which I am running on a 6 bolt swap but I still have my stock 2g sidemount, do I need just a regular j pipe, or do I need a j pipe and an extension??

you should probably upgrade your side mount before you put on the new turbo. The stock 2g intercooler cant chill an ice cube.
 
The T25 heatsoaks the stock 2G intercooler at stock boost levels...it's rather poor as far as efficiency is concerned. I'd make an intercooler upgrade one of your next modifications for sure.

Standard upgrade j-pipe will fit with the 90* elbow- same kit they sell on eBay for $75ish with the oil supply line.
 
definitely going to see heat soak in early gears.

If you really want to keep a sidemount look, I would suggest a supra sidemount or using a sidemount shaped aftermarket one and retrofitting it to a 2g location.

ETS makes side-mounts for the audi twin turbo. I was looking at their intercooler and really like the shape and design of them.

There are two j pipe designs for out cars, one that move the j pipe to stock location and another that moves it to a FMIC location

The first time I took my GST to the track with the T25 after my first pass I ran my hand over the sidemount and it was nearly hot to the touch.
 
Thanks for your input everyone...and yes a FMIC or mkIV sidemount was my next idea for an upgrade....I just got done rebuilding my stock turbo but I might have thrown the balance out when I was putting it back together so I ordered the 20g and was just gonna throw that on, but I am tired of not having a car so I am just gonna throw my stock turbo back on and hope it lasts til I get my j pipe and elbow...I'm just kinda broke right now, because the guy I bought my car from lied about a bunch of shit so I have been dumpin every penny I got into this car...so I was gonna run low boost and hope I'd be ok until I upgraded my IC. Also, what do you guys think would be a safe boost level on the 20g until I upgrade my fuel system, which I was thinkin runnin stock injectors(for awhile), walbro 250, and afpr, unless I find my ECU and was lucky enough to have an eprom swapped before I bought my car so I can tune out overrun.....
