Running 2g without air filter cover?

Is this beneficial or does it make air flow worse? Just for the meanwhile until I get a acctual cold air intake.

I'd atleast clamp it down with tiny clamps (ones for test tubes work for 1g atleast )only need the first half if it

You said you're getting a cold air intake, just wait until then. You're not gaining tons of horsepower by leaving it off. And I agree with @motomattx

To further explain @motomattx reply. The top side of the factory air cleaner box is the filtered air side. The bottom is unfiltered. By leaving it off you would have no air filter. Also the intake air would be hotter because it would be sucking from under the hood instead of under the fender.
