Well im trying to figure out if its normal that the car runs at little bit of high rpm's on the highway;for example at 80 mph the tach reads 3000 or 3100 rpm's. Is this normal?

Yes, your talon should run 80 MPH at only 3000 RPM. Let's see now, that puts 6000 RPM at 160 MPH and your 7500 Rev limit at just a little past dead.

Or, it would if you were running a 1:1 gear ratio. Which you aren't.

These are DSMs. We aren't big on "normal".

Speed is still linear with RPM for any given gear ratio.

Tires may grow at higher speeds and Torque Converters may slip at lower speeds but the relationship between changes in RPM and changes in MPH is pretty much linear in any given gear. Of course lower gears require more changes in RPM to get the same change in MPH as higher gears. But that is normal

Ah, but we are big on Normal here in the DSM world.
