Hi guys,
how much RPM you get when cruise at 60 MPH at 5th gear (FWD turbo and AWD turbo)?
Ask cause I have F5M22 tranny and I have at 60 3200 RPMs. I thinking about swap FWD tranny or go all the way and swap AWD :) and curious about RPM change...
thanks for answers

since we're on this subject u guys dont know if shepard could somehow do some gear swappin and make 5th a liitle lower do ya? it sure would be nice to be goin on the interstate (which is 75 here) at 78 mph and rev only like 2800 or so instead of a gas guzzlin 3500 when cold and then 3300 when warm. just a thought i guess.

im confused, how can 3 AWD people have such different answers? one says 2600 another says 2800 and the other guy said 3000........i personaly dont know cause i dont have a functional speedo but shouldnt they be about the same????not 200-400 rpms different? since the tranny ratios are the same shouldnt there mph-rpms be the same? im new though so i guess i could be and prolly am missing something.

o, well that was in the back of my head but i just dont wanna be missunderstanding how something works if there being exact.

What? It's a solid-gear connection between the crankshaft and the speedometer sensor. Your MPH may not be accurate in terms of tire/wheel size and how fast the car is actually going down the road, but the relationship between crankshaft and speedometer isn't changeable.

OMG sorry... i was thinking of a/t for some reason... i've noticed in my saturn that on the highway my rpms will fall minimal amounts when i get behind another car.
tire and wheel sizes make a difference in m/t cars. example, 16" wheel has 50" (without a tire, another variable) per rotation; whereas a 17" wheel has 53" per rotation, making all gears roughly 6% taller (other variables aside).

Ah, true. The torque convertor's slip will make a variable between RPM and MPH between the crankshaft and the speedo sensor. :thumb:

Funny how much different answers :)

After estimations and extrapolations :D I thinking that 1G AWD (M/T) have about 2600 RPM at 60 MPH at 5 gear.

Thanx all you guys for answers.:thumb:
