I have a 1990 Eagle Talon TSI that I got not that long ago, that has a rought idle issue. At idle my boost gauge is reading only about 15 inches on vacuum and the engine runs pretty rough. And I know a good running engine should have about 18-21. Because of this the car dies about 50 percent of the time when you come to a stop. Once you get going it seems to run fine and have plently of power and when you let off the gas while cruising, the vacuum drops down to about 20-21 inches of vacuum. I'm pretty good with cars, but I'm not too familar with DSMs. Also i did replace the intake manifold gasket, it still ran rough at idle but it didn't die when you come to a complete stop for the first day I drove. Now it's back to where it was before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
