i got the 2g brake kit from turboimport and SS lines from RRE. i'm gonna attempt it next week and was wondering if i could get some questions answered before i run into trouble. i've done the searching...

brake fluid: recommendations on brand/type of fluid? how does one flush the brake system if putting in a different type of fluid? what is in there now? old owner of the car did all her service at a mitsu dealership.

i want to paint the calipers and have to deal with them drying so i might try to do the rears one day and do the fronts the next day. should i expect any adverse affects while driving if only my rears were changed and bled? reason is that i use my parents' driveway for the work and i would have to drive home and go back there the next day. i wouldn't think it would hurt, since some people only upgrade the front but i'm not sure if they bleed all 4 lines when only upgrading the front.

thanks in advance

When I did mine it was a good 2 day job. Take your time and read your manual. Since your doing rotors and lines, completely remove the break assembly, clean it, paint it and let it dry overnight. Watch out, sometimes the rubber line are difficult to break loose. You will need to bleed all four lines and use Motul 600c brake fluid (1 liter). Get a friend to help you bleed the lines. Step on the break, crack the bleeder valve till no pressure, close the valve, step off the break. Do this to all four and make sure there are no bubbles in the lines. When it's done right, with ss lines, your break will feel like your stepping on a rock. Tear it down, take your time, crash on mom's couch if you have to. Read your manual.
