All Y'all be really careful when using the "bolt" method to remove rusty rotors. I was using bolt pressure to press rusty rotors off my 1g and I cracked the spindle at the caliper eyelet.

You have been warned... :sosad:

looks like you need new rotos either way :thumb: but for the future i just use a mallet and hit the edges it works everytime ( considering i live in florida :p) sorry about your rotor though

I bash rotors off with a large ball peen hammer at least two, three times a week. Yesterday I bashed off two rear ones from a Mercedes Benz E320 4matic. Sometimes they come off in three pieces. That's one reason I don't suggest resurfacing. I never cracked a steering knuckle using this methodology.

Exactly..I beat the hell out of the rotor back and front in one spot..Turn the rotor and beat it somemore..Repeat till it comes off..Then you get to slide the brand new rotors on ther, and your good..

I used an 8 lb sledge for a couple of hours before attempting to press the rotor off with the bolts. A couple days later and PB blasting it every time I walk by it, and it still won't come off with the sledge. I am now resigned to just buying two used spindles and replacing the whole knuckle on both sides since I cannot remove the rotors and I obviously need at least one now anyway.

This car is pissing me off. Incurable knock, thrashed suspension with phantom bumpsteer, transmission slop for no apparent reason and now this...
