:banghead: Ok so I finally got around to trying to install the big break upgrade on my car and the drivers side rotor won't come off. So far I've used about a can of PB Blaster, used the technique on VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions, used a hammer, used a bigger hammer, and tried using the threaded holes in the rotors but of course they were useless and rusted. Anybody got any ideas on this.

Hey guys just wanted to give yall an update on this and the new problem. I sprayed in down with more PB Blaster and let it sit overnight. I got a 5 pound sledge and beat the hell out of it to no end but it didn't budge. I was going to get a puller from Autozone but I figured I would give the vfaq method one more shot first. So here I am tightening the bolts down from behind the rotor and I here a snap. I'm thinking great, its gonna come off. I check the rotor and it hasn't budged. WTF? I get my flashlight and start looking behind the rotor thinking maybe the bolt snapped a piece of it off again but its fine. Instead of pushing the rotor off it snapped the ear the bolt was through. You know the one where the caliper mounts up. Are you kidding me? So now I'm in the market for a new drivers side hub. Let me know if anybody has one. Hell I might take both fronts off your hands just to be safe. Thanks for all the help guys.

OMG I can't believe that happened. I just tried the VFAQ method and the rotors popped right off. Too bad this happened. Now you know why anti seize is so crucial.

The trick is to knock all the studs out then commence with the sledge.

The studs work in conjunction with the rust to hold the rotor in place. With the studs installed, you cannot "rock" the rotor by hitting it from the front. If you knock the studs through the back then proceed to hit the rotor with a sledge at the outermost edge from the front, it will pop right off.

This method has never let me down....just don't plan on reusing the rotor once it's removed.
