Rotella 15-40?

Ive heard SO many dsmers say rotella is great. Would it be a good oil for me to run? Brand new engine, acl coated bearings, break in has been done. All mods in profile up to date.
The only concern i have is its really thick oil. They dont sell rotella 10/40 at this walmart, thats what id prefer.

i run rotella 15-40 in everything I own. I started running it in the talon after 5000 break in and have never had a problem. Diesal oil is high in detergents so its better to run in it new rebuilt engines to prevent sludge buildup. Id recomend running that oil.

The Rotella T6 synthetic is the one you want, T5 is the contenvional oil. If you can find 10W40 that would be a little better than 15W40 but still good to use. I'm running T6 5W40 in my VR-4 and will be in my Eclipse.

Race car yes. On a DD you will notice a 1-2mpg decrease from 10w-30. Good stuff though. It is too bad they don't offer it in 10w-30 synthetic would be the best race oil option for the price.

They do make a 10-30 synthetic blend. Ask your local parts store (we keep it in the back). If they don't have it, they should be able to get it. If you have a Rural King or other farm store in your area is another place to try.

Use Mobile1 High Mileage 10W-40 with a Mobile1 Filter.

I get the noise too, when I switched to penzoil for about 1500 miles I had no noise, but I felt the oil didnt last very long so I changed back to mobile1

Mobil 1 is good on a stock vehicle, but its been proven it won't protect as well as other brands. The zinc and phophorus numbers are a lot lower.

I like valvoline vr1 synthetic. Has very high zinc and phosphorus and makes my talon run nice

Then get some T6 10W40 and either a Wixx or OEM oil filter and you'll be good to go.

Anything with a Wix core. Napa's high-end filter is a rebadged Wix.

Now I'm not sure I'll be able to find Rotella 15w-40 here easily, so if I had to settle, which should I settle for?

Any oils with a high zinc and phophorus, the file I posted above shows different oils that meet the requirements.

One filter I've that been using recently is a Motorcraft FL-821 filter. It has a spring loaded anti-drain back valve and by-pass valve and is a good high flow filter.

I think I'll try valvoline instead I didnt see rotella on that list. At least what I've been using has "mid" zinc levels.

Oh that would explain why I couldn't find any other weight. Everyone else was saying you could get others.

Did some research, Shell has a lot of info on their site, even have a video.

so what would be the correct weight for a stock dsm with rotella?

I also heard that using this oil would be bad for the cat, not that I have one but I recall an sti owner saying it. good for turbo, bad for cat

Oh that would explain why I couldn't find any other weight. Everyone else was saying you could get others.

There are other weight rotella oils, but the only full synthetic is the t6.

The 15w40 is the rotella T5, which is a synthetic blend.
