ross pistons 9:1

Anyone run ross pistions 9:1. My friend runs them in his car and hasnt ever had any problems and advised me to get them. He also said the turbo spools faster. Everyone else on dsmtuners seems to be running or selling either 8:1 or 8.5:1 pistons. Your thoughts?

Higher compression won't spool the turbo faster, it will give you more off boost torque though. The limit will be in the tuning and fuel available. If you are using a piggyback system, then it's probably not the best compression ratio to choose. Your knock threshold will be lowered, and without being able to tune your timing curve it will become a problem.

I'm using 9:1 pistons with an afc on 91 pump. No knock at 20 pounds of boost. What elevation do you live at. My motor has 165psi at 4500 ft where I live and 190 psi at sea level. Its a little harder to tune at sea level then it is at my elevation. Its all in the cam angle sensor when using higher compression pistons.
