Holy mackeral! That makes the conversion ultra simple, then.
With 3000GTs, the conversion path for 1st gens (91-93) are to the bolt-on 2nd gen (94-99) brakes, which have almost the same 4-piston caliper but bigger rotors, requiring the bigger-offset 2nd gen wheels. The upgrade path from there (for me, anyway) was Porsche Big Red calipers (which reguire a simple conversion bracket) and stock rotors, then to the same calipers with 13.5 in. Coleman two-piece rotors (which required a slightly taller conversion bracket). It was all bolt-on stuff.
This means that DSM racers have an upgrade path that does not require Stoptechs or any other ultra-expensive conversion. This can be especially beneficial to budget racers, because 1st gen 3000GT brakes would probably do the job just fine, should be available at junkyards, and don't require the bigger offset wheel. From there, the same upgrade path exists to a truly monster braking system.
How do they work for you? Do they stop your car without fade?
