I'm installing the RM sway bar on my rear suspension rebuild and have run into an issue.

Since the bar (and bushings/clamps) are larger in diameter, the bolts that hold it to the subframe don't allow any adjustment to move the bar forward or backwards. Because of this, the holes in the end of the bar for the end links overshoot the holes in the lower control arms, causing the end links to sit at an odd angle.

I want to make some new end links and have a few ideas in mind (and thanks to Rick...Pagosa DSM for his input!), but I'm not sure on the best way to go.

Should I stay with a right angle heim joint into poly bushings similar to the stock links, or go with dual heim joints in a configuration similar to the fronts without any rubber bushings? The latter seems like it would allow too much movement in different directions.

Anything I do looks like it is going to require some cutting and welding on the lower control arms to get the links to line up.

Any thoughts?

Here's some pics...

I'm thinking a heim joint arrangement like this:

With a piece of steel bar or angle welded roughly here for a bolt through the heim (the lower heim would actually have a bolt through it, instead of studded as shown above), along with the proper spacer. I would also have to enlarge the hole in the arm a little for clearance around the heim.

Well I got the rear links fabricated, and I think they'll work nicely. I'll post up a tech article after I get a few miles on them, and show a few more pics in my build blog.
