i'm trying to repair my 1997 eclipse GST.everytime i rev it, it throws white smoke, im not that big of a mechanic so i took it to someone who knows more about it. turns out its he turbo im looking for the stock turbo at least to stop the smoke and sell the car i found this on ebay but im not too sure if its the right fit for it (Godspeed Universal T25 Internal Wastegate Turbo Charger)

I've heard bad things about eBay turbos. Every once and a while someone gets a decent eBay turbo but it's not worth it. You can find used T25's for cheap if you look around!

If you just want to fix it to sell the car, I would definitely put a T25 (stock) turbo back on to sell it. You can post a WTB in the Classifieds and get a used one for dirt cheap.

But if you're selling it, it's not worth it to put on a 16g...

I may take the time to put up all my old stock parts on here, an old t25 being one of them. It has shaft play but doesnt smoke one bit. You can find a used t25 on craigslist for literally 25 bucks if you cant find one in the classifieds. They are so cheap and unwanted but they are reliable little guys. Dont buy ebay, if youre trying to resell, it will actually hurt the value of the car if they know its an ebay turbo. I would pay more for an old t25 equipped gst than one with a brand new knock off turbo.

Im with everybody else here, grab a replacement t25 for next to nothing, or if you dont feel like looking around grab the ebay turbo and be done with it.

thanks for all the replies dsmers it's helping alot plan is to sell the car in the long run but i mean i just bought it a while i go might as well have some fun with it right after all it is the car i wanted since the beginning t25 does sound a lil more reliable for the moment after some time might go for that 16g
once again thanks very helpful :D

If you need a t25 I have one laying around. Never had a problem with it when it was on my dsm. I swapped it out for a 14b, and decided to give it a rebuild so, internally, she's brand new (looks new externally too). Thought about keeping it around in case I ever need to go back to stock, but I guess I'll sell it if you want it. Pm me if interested...
