Anyone suppose that maybe Mitsu will release a 4wd version of the 4g Eclipse without the 4g63, but rather a F/I 6G75 (v6 engine code)?

I really hope not, cuse then that will piss me off and they don't want that now do they? LOL jk
If they do then they just suck, thats all. Yes i know thats immature but hey.... they need to please the consumer and thus i am entitled.

Correction: They need to please the majority of consumers.

perhaps mitsu just leave it FWD with the 4g63.. so if people want an AWD version they can stick with the EVOs..

i wonder what the guys on the 4G forum are saying.. "damn i wish my 4g came with that motor and AWD"

holy shoot, I never knew that thing was an evo in diguise, I just figured ralliart did some bodywork and ad an intake, taht shit is impressive.

What's so special about 4g63. The whole point is the AWD. You could throw on a turbo kit on to the current 4g with a v6 in it and, make more power than you would with a 4g63. The whole point is putting the power to the ground and, not in to white smoke.

Hell, I'd be happy if it came with the 6g72TT motor out of the 3kgt/dodge stealth... as long as it had AWD and something better than those 13Bs, Id hump it :thumb:

definately a sexy beast. it's good to see that ralli art hasn't forgotten the eclipse's dsm roots. i'd buy one, but i'm going to be having a family by the time i could afford it. so i'm just going to stick with the evo. 4 doors + kid seat > 2 doors + kid seat. it was still refreshing to see the 4g63 in the 4g with awd.

Oh yes the little 2.0L with the possibility of crank walk how could i forget. :D I'd take an in-line 6 cylinder engine over the 4g63 engine all day every day.

was going to add this to one of those old threads that were already on this topic, but someone went through and closed them all... anyways, first off, i was looking at the new eclipse, and the front reminded me of something, but i couldnt place just what....(see pic 1..)

THEN I REMEMBERED!!!!

while looking around on this forum i saw a thread about a custom bumper for the 2g, and one of the ideas was pic 2 below (credit goes to the creator, whos name i dont have, it wasnt me tho...)

look similar? to me they do...

also i noticed someone said in one of the threads that was closed, "the last eclipse was made in 1999."

i disagree, (pic 3 and 4)

forgot to add, if they start to sell this 400hp awd 4g63 beast, i would probably have to sell the talon and buy it...

ya if you look in the "hangout" section of this site you will see a 7 page thread about the return of this car and what is actually going to happen with it...unless you said that in your post and I forgot to read it..

i wonder if there ever gonna make a talon again? :coy: But yea those 06 eclipses alright... i don't really like the body or the itec or whatever its running... wish they had some sort of turbo system running through it.

that car is hella sweet. i just took an entire hour almost reading everyone's opinion on this car and i must say it's been very interesting. i'd definately save up for this car, however, i think it resembles the mercury cougar a little too much. like it was stated, the world is starting to fall into that "bigger is better" mindset which means the 2.0 is on its last leg. however, i for one..WILL NOT sell my car due to the fact its going down in history as one of the toughest f'n motors in the import world today. just think about it, other than the supra and a few other cars, what else could keep up with the 2g's? i'm not leaving out the 1g's on this, but just give that a spin in the brain. yes, that car's f'n sweet but i would be highly shocked and amazed if i walked into a mistu d'ship and saw one on the showroom floor. seeing and reading everything that's been posted, reminds me of how i dreampt of the dreamcast before i came out...and what happen? i was dissappointed. mistu is looking at the majority and not the minority when thinking of producing this car. if one things for sure, i'm definately going to stick with the smaller motor....meaning, i won't be at the pump as much...

all in all...good idea :dsm: , but stop f'n teasin us because we the import tuners and owners of earlier gens know what's good...LISTEN TO US NOT THE MAJORITY!!! :rocks:

mivec, is mitsu's variable valve timing, which the new evo has on it, and theres really no reason to not like it, i can see why you would rather see a turbo, but you can have both, (the evo does) so it would be better to just say, i want to see a turbo on those new eclipses...

and the two pics i posted at the end are of an eclipse with an evo9's drivetrain (ie awd turbo inline 4 4g63) with a bunch of hks upgrades... putting it at 400hp

GO RALLIART

There is no such thing as the Eagle car division anymore, so I doubt we'll be seeing a Talon. And if I'm not mistaken, the very last car that Eagle produced was the 1998 Eagle Talon. Fought its way right to the end!

I would defnitely buy that as a daily driver. Something somewhat luxurious, hot looking and enough power to scoot around with awd. Plus I could work on the engine myself and 4 cylinder gas mileage is a plus. It being somewhat heavy, I bet its aobut 3400 wtih awd (remember switching to 4g63 made it lighter and carbon hood, and everything else) Weight wouldnt bother me as a daily driver cuz it would be doing more touring duty...

Not necessarily true. The big selling point of the 4G63 is that it can handle abuse more than anything. Aside from the Supra Mk IV engine, I think the Eclipse is up there in handling boost. You will break a tranny first than you will break the engine - unless you dont do your timing belt.

I doubt that the stock 4th Gen Eclipse engine can handle more than 10PSI of boost in its stock form. yes it has more HP (260) than the 2nd gen, but forcedfed, Im sure it will be puking its guts earlier than a 4G63.

Our cars are just better under pressure. :thumb:
