Resurfacing flywheel

Whats up guys,
Just a quick question, I am swapping in my 6 bolt motor in about a month give or take a few days. Now my sotck clutch is toasted and I am putting in my ACT 2600, is it imperative that I get the flywheel resurfaced or will it be ok for a month or so? Thanks a lot

First of all you will need a 6 bolt flywheel, second if it's used I would get it resurfaced, there could be hot spots, cracks ect. you never know how beat on it was. but if you decide to get a new flywheel you cab get fidanza'a real cheap from Monkey wrench racing

Thanks a lot. I already have a 6 bolt flywheel for the 1st gen block, but I am talking about getting the 7 bolt flywheel resurfaced b/c the 1st gen. block won't be in for probably a month or so. So I should def. get it resurfaced then? The only reason I am putting the new clutch in with the 7 bolt motor is b/c it is pretty shot. THanks again

i am not sure if the pressure plate on a act 2600 for a 7 bolt flywheel will bolt to a 6 bolt flywheel.

if so i would still resurface the 7bolt flywheel before installing it because the most crusial time for a clutch is the break in period. you do not want to glaze that clutch... after it gets broke in it will hold like a mofo, but take it easy on it for about 300 miles(intown driving) because what breaks it in is hitting the flywheel and comming off the flywheel, also when breaking it in besure not to ride it hard.

FYI all turbo dsm clutch's form 90-99 are the same size 225 mm there is no dif between awd and fwd.

Thanks a lot guys, so I just have to take it easy on it, not alotta boost. I will get it resurfaced then, and I was pretty sure that all clutches fit 90-99 which is also sick. THanks a lot guys
