How often or low does your engine oil drop down. About 2.4k miles into my oil change I'm already 1/3 empty. Is this normal. I just do normal driving to work and back. It's my first oil change on my 98 gst because I just barely put over 5k miles since I've bought it march last year!

you mean you didn't even change the oil after you got the car? and no i don't think having 1/3 of oil left is normal...check for leaks

Nah. I got the papers from Jiffy Lube where the previous owner just changed it @9 miles of driving before I bought it. I've check before buying and oil was clear as heck. Also the oil filter was new as hell.
Nope. No leaks in the garage at all.
No, I have 2/3rds left not 1/3rd! Sorry for the confusion!

I got that little filter mod on the tube from the valve cover to the intake pipe. Nope I've just cleaned the oil from the injen intake and turbo months ago. None there either.
With the conclusion it is leading me to believe that this is normal! Thanks for the reply guys!

Is it smoking any? Is there any visible leakage on the engine, turbo, or transmission? Also, check the underside of the car and the tailpipe. Chances are you have leaky seals in your turbo and are just blowing a little out of the exhaust when you are under boost.

I usually find it slightly fishy when the oil in a car has been changed immediately before trying to sell it. Makes me question if there is a problem of water and oil mixing, or if it's loosing it through leaking or burning. Just my .02

Hey now, if you get some good sealing Orings and those tubes wont leak a drop for at least 1k miles!

ROFL

Then the oil will just find its way through the seams of the 30 year old case halves.

I miss my baja, but it was like a lap dog that wasn't housebroken, leaving its little messes everywhere.

My Talon drips a few drops of oil/gear oil/coolant every week, everything else gets burned in the combustion process ROFLROFLROFL

Maybe what you took out in your oil change was a bit heavier of oil then what you put in? Your not smoking? Not even under boost? Most cars will burn oil in the higher RPMS. So if you've been putting a beating on her she might burn a little! Also check your lower intercooler piping for oil

I dont think most cars burn oil at high RPM... at least not enough to actually see in the exhaust.

My bottom end has like 200k on it and I've never seen so much as a puff of blue smoke. Granted, the head only has 10K on a rebuild, and the motor has been maintained well, but still. The moment I see blue smoke at high RPM is the day I tear her down for a rebuild.

No guys! No oil drips or anything. No smoke from exhaust, no oil in exhaust tips.
Inside pipes by turbo and intercooler is clean, no greasy feeling. I AM.... filling my coolant reservoir every two weeks. I've checked the oil( castro syn. ) and it does look a little watery. Watery as in when I wipe the dip stick clean to dip it back in for accurate readings. As soon as I pull it out. Oil drips off immediately. Isn't it suppose to be thick in consistency/ texture?
Also when I bought the car the coolant had been changed, green as grass. When this rain lets up in central cali. I might flush the coolant to check for head gasket damage/ oil in coolant.
Maybe it's a head gasket now??? Clueless!
Any idea how ABOUT much for a head gasket change!
YOU GUYS BEEN HELPFUL, THANKS!

If there was coolant in the oil it would look creamy, like coffee with a little creamer. If the oil is hot it would be a little thinner but you if you really think its thinning out somehow just compare it to some fresh oil thats the same as what you put in.
