2G Restomod Build - Examples

Hi everyone.

I got a 95 GST 2G that I am tearing down and fully customizing. I’m going to rebuild the engine and look to get a “quick car” but nothing crazy. What I really want is something similar to the “restomods” that have a classic car exterior but all the electronic comforts of 2026.

Anyone else doing this / have examples? I know there is going to be a lot of customization with the electronics but I’m talking about integrated touch screen, air ride suspension, in car tuning capabilities, 360 degree camera, etc. Not random bolt-ons but all in an integrated system.

Also, yes I know it’s going to be expensive.

I've swapped over to a DBW throttle body and R35 coils and switched over to a Haltech R3. Thinking of doing the UC10 dash this year or next year. Other than that its simple stuff everyone has been doing for years. Swap the radio for a double-din multimedia touch-screen unit and wire in the reverse camera. Upgrade factory amp and speakers. reupholster shifter boot, seats and steering wheel with nicer leather.

I was looking at going with their UC10 and PD16.

As far as the double-din touchscreen, I’m looking to see if I can get more functionality. Maybe something like a 10/11” tablet screen and control the tuning there. Don’t know if it’s possible yet but I don’t see why. Obviously custom center cluster for that

They make those, but the issue you'll have, if you put in the factory location, is that it sticks out of the dash and the shifter will contact the unit.

Right, that’s why I am thinking I’ll need to customize the center cluster. I figure I can re-route the venting system and put a screen up top.
