So I bought Clevite rod bearings from Autozone and went to size them up and put them in the caps only to find they dont fit. Neither does the locking pin on the bearing. Its too wide to fit in the stock rod cap, so i order a set of rod bearings from summit only to find the same thing, and the fact that their TOO big. When I put them together around the crank I got like .25 " of slop. Whats the possibility I got the wrong bearings twice? My receipts say there for my 95 eclipse gst 7 bolt. Neither fit, its making me wonder. Anyone ever had this problem or have a clue? I'm stumped. Where'd you guys get your rod bearings and what kind? thanks

I think you're ordering them for the wrong engine, or your engine has been rebuilt before...

besides that, all I can suggest is to get some ACL Races... there not the prettiest but they're well made and the part numbers don't get mixed up too often

I'm telling the places I get them from what its for, THEY must be f'd up or their part numbers are wrong, but whats the chance. My motors never been touched its not that. Is it possible their giving me rod bearings for the 2.4l engine? Thats the only thing I can think of.

you should look up the part numbers yourself and see if they match

what part number do you have for hyour rod bearings? I'll try to take a look

4615p at summitracing.com
I looked, it says its for our cars but im so lost. Idk what to do. thanks man

No the ones you have are for a 1995-2000 420a engine.... you definitely have the wrong bearings

If you want the Clevite Rod Bearings for the 6-bolt engine you need part number

4-3485CP

if you want ACL Race you want 4B1146H

that pic in the avatar is my buddies. im working on a 95 copper gst 7 bolt. thanks alot tho guys. Stupid ppl

sorry I didn't get back sooner but I'm sure you've figured out that if you want standard sized rod bearings you'll need CLE-CB1643P
