bearings for crank / rod

how would i go about finding what spec for the bearings to match my crank and my rods. The crank was polished ( maybe machined? ) and i got aftermarket eagle rods. I apologize for my stupidity. Please let me know if you have ne help for me! thanks
 
thats the problem.. i dont know.. i bought it all and the dude i got i from has had it all there for a few years..

Do you have a micrometer? Then you could measure all your journals and find out what bearings you will need by comparing to stock specs on the crank.
 
measure it and compare to specs to find out if it was machined or just polished. Our cranks are nitrided stock, so its not a good idea to turn them(unless you renitrate, renitride spelling :confused: ). If it was my motor I wouldnt want to use a turned crank.
 
i used a turned crank in one of my first rebuilds and within 1500 miles i already had a nice deep scratch on teh #4 rod journal.
 
crap.. i just had .25mm taken off of my main and rod journals on the crank that i'm building my motor with.
So given the theory of re-nitriding, is my crank going to live a short life?
