[RESOLVED] where does the coolant return line go? and how does it connect?

on the turbo, theres a banjo fitting, that looks like it should have a hose slipped over it, that doesn't seem right, but I'm not sure. any help would be appreciated, and any suggestions of how to make this work without having to order parts would be very much appreciated

Got a picture? Not sure exactly what your talking about. Do you mean the coolant line that runs to the back side (closest to the block) of the turbo?

no, the one thats on the front. the one on the back goes to the thermostat housing.

It goes to the steel coolant line that runs across the block from power steering pump area to the thermostat area. There's a connection just by the edge of the block that the pipe screws into and the banjo attaches at the front of the turbo.

Thats right. The banjo fitting closest to the radiator is the return for the coolant. A fat ass bolt with a hole in it screws through the front of it into the turbo. there is another one on top of the turbo, which comes from the thermostat housing.

probably something to check before you start shopping for parts I imagine

You say you have the banjo with an open end that looks like a hose would slip over it? This is the banjo that bolts up to the back of the turbo and connects via a small rubber section to the thermostat housing. The one in my photo is the banjo that attaches to the front of the turbo and you can see where it screws into the coolant pipe. EITHER pipe can be bought at Welcome To Extreme PSI price is reasonable, but you have two options. You can buy a generic replacement that you have to bend yourself or buy the preformed for a few dollars more.
