[RESOLVED] vital screw, need part # please \\ Turbo oil feed banjo bolt

Hi i just broke the banjo bolt that bolts the oil feed line to the turbo to the head, i went to napa, home depot, autozone, kragen, and none of them have it. I live in san diego and i'm wondering where anyone would have this bolt. I already went on machv and ordered theirs, but i know it iwll take like a week and a half to get here and as of right now i cant drive my car because theres an oil leak.

So you put an oil feed line to the turbo on from the pump? If so, just go to a hardware store, and get a bolt with the same thread pattern to plug the hole in your head. Make sure to get a copper crush washer, or rtv it good so it doens't leak.

alright dealership is out the closest one to me is in poway and i'm not driving that far up there to pay 50 bucks for this bolt.

And its a special bolt if u look at it, i dunno if u noticed, but its hollow and has two holes on the sides so that oil can go through it, that line is the oil line for the turbo from the head, the head is threaded and u screw in that bolt connected to that line and makes a clear passage for the oil to go through, i went everywhere and i cant find anyone who sells the right size i need.

Just wondering if like anyone has had this trouble before and would know a good place that would have it, besides local hardware store, cause like theres not many of those around here i've looked.

Why not just feed the turbo from the oil filter housing?
Don't have the time nor money?

make one. get a bolt i belive the threads are 12mmx1.25mm and drill some holes.

thats what i was thinking of doing, but i'm just not sure i can make it as perfect as this stock one, i dont have a press so it would be hard to make right.

And the bolt that i broke is the one that connects to the head, so it is the smaller one of the two bolts, the bigger one is the one that bolts to the turbo.

the bolt is only $5 or so and you'll most likely only be able to get it from the dealer. Part Number is MF650102. You can get it from RRE which is in CA also, but not sure how far away it is from you...

Try NAPA and other parts stores. Banjo bolts aren't that big a deal.

Don't try drilling one, they're hardened to survive having half their mass removed. Anything soft enough to drill will probably snap off from vibration crystalizing it.

I can't believe the bolt broke before you stripped the threads in the head. That happened to me, thank god for helicoil kits.

I used a hardend bolt and drilled through it with a drill press. i ended up stripping the inside of that oil feed. So i just used a longer bolt. Mine works perfect. the bolt holds up great and hasnt broken. The mitsubishi I went to said they wanted 10-15 dollars for that banjo bolt. the thread pattern is M10x1.25 if you decide to make your own bolt. Im sure you could take it to a local machine shop and have them do it for cheap and in an hour.

CRAZY! i broke the EXACT same bolt and in spokane banjo bolts are hard as find. I finally went to crystler today and had them order me one for 13.99. It'll be here tommorow. Mitsu said it would take a week, crystler one day! tommorow i will finally have this fixed.

Thanks for your help guys i really appreciate it. I just went to the stealership and got it for 12 bucks, it will be here tomorrow so i can finally get my car running. Lol just put my new ported 2g manifold and complete 3" rnr o2 eliminator and haven't even heard my car up with it yet, had to break the bolt now of any times of course.

I went to the local dealership and paid 12 dollars for mine they shipped it to my house so just call up a dealership and just have them ship it to you took 2 days for me

So i finally found my oil leak, which was the oil return pipe. it had a good size crack in it. so i went ahead and tightened my banjo bolts and now the one on the head is stripped. im lost on what to do.

Take the bolt to the place you are gonna buy the helicoil from and they will give you the kit. Roughly 50 bucks. I stripped mine also and it was easy and worked like a charm! Just keep a steady hand with the drill dont wanna mess up that head!

i did the same exact thing. actually my friend who was helping me did it. its pretty simple just drill the hole (take out old threads). then tap it with the tool they give you. then run the new threads in. just remember as you drill it your putting metal shavings in the head which means if you dont clean them out good enough they are going right into your turbo so try to get all of the metal shavings out. OR YOU WILL END UP LIKE ME WITH A BLOWN 14B

I'm trying to make a oil feed line for my new evoIII turbo and a local shop said they could make a ss oil line for me for about $30 so I didn't order one with the turbo. Turns out we are having trouble finding the right fittings? The guy told me if I found the right fitting he can still make me a hose. Dose anybody know where I can get these fittngs, like off of a certin car or something like that? I don't have a close Mitsu dealer either. I called slowboyracing (where i got the turbo and other goodies over $1600)and they didn't really help me or even act like theywanted to help me. They only told me that there's was custom made. What really pissies me off is that they sent all my stuff to my old address when I told them on the phone I had moved. I know they got it because my FMIC came to me and the other stuff went to my old house on a thursday and I didn't know it until friday night. Luckaly it had to have a signature so it wasen't dropped off and I had a friend at UPS get it monday morning. I told the guy from SlowBoy this and asked about if he would priority mail a ss oil line and 4 bolts so I could have them by Saturday so my car would be running and all he told me was its a service charge to do that and if I got on the site and ordered $100 worth of parts shipping would be free. By then I was mad thinking I've spent this much money and not to mention other parts I've bought from them they wouldn't help me any and even acted like he was getting an aditude with me like I was just some punk. I know I'm not a huge spender but I'm not a little punk brat either. Not saying I'm not gonna order from them anymore but I will difinatly look at other places before I buy from them again! I hate this because they have helped me in the past. I just think that they could have helped me by not adding a service charge and giving me an additude when I just gave them that much buisness just 2 weeks ago. Sorry for getting off the subject but if anyone can help me with the fittings it would be great. Thanks

It should be the same as my old small 16g which is M12-1.25. If you want to be sure, bring the bolt to a hardware store and match it up to a nut.

Thanks for the messurement OLDMAN. I'll try that. I don't know if I can get that fitting around here besides out of a junk yard. Know of any cars? I can't say how much of a great help you are to this forum. You've helped me a tremendus amount just by helping other people with there problems and me stumbling on them and reading them.
