[RESOLVED] Oil pressure problem please help... FAST!!!

last weeek i was going to wyotech for a little show n go. on the way there my stock oil return cracked and i had to turn around and go back. i cut it and put rubber hose where that flex piece was. on tuesday i noticed my oil pressure was way below the normal line at idle like halfway between none and normal and when driving it would only go to almost normal but not quite. then sometimes it would go to mormal maybe a hair above, but no farther. then i went down a hill close to my house, 3rd gear 40 maybe 45 and my oil pressure went up to where it always is halfway or a lil more between normal and high. i have the stm bal shaft elim kit. it dont smell like oil so i dont think its leaking. could the oil pan be dented too much to the point the pick up is sucking against the metal? idk what to do. failing oil pump? HELP!!!

to me that oil pressure gauge is about as worthless as the stock boost & fuel level gauge imo. the only stock gauge i watch is my coolant temp and even then if im skeptical i check my logger. i know there a little bit pricey but why not replace your oil return line and see if that corrects the problem? or get an actual oil pressure gauge so you can see what its actually at.

Get another oil return line, and a aftermarket oil gauge, that saved my engine.

Your best bet is to replace the return line and see how it goes from there. i wouldnt see why the screen would be sucking against the pan unless you have a major dent in the pan.

I am having a similar problem right now. At idle the pressure drops and the oil light flickers but after i rev the motor it will go back up to normal. I checked the oil and I am not burning or leaking any. I will check the return line as well!

Well if its broken mine was the only fix was another oil return line. Because if its broken your losing oil, a lot, quickly.

yea. i want to get an aftermarket gauge.but for now i just wanna see what i can come up with. (broke as a joke because of my car) also, my exhaust was leaking real bad at the header,and just now on the way home my cyl 1 tube broke rite around the weld where all4 came together. (pacesetter) could that have ne thing to do with it? im so confused... i was told that putting the rubber hose in place of the flex piece on the return is much better than stock which is what i did. no apparent leaks ne where, dont smell oil

The rubber hose tried that twice nothing but, a bunch of problems it even tore, waste of my money anyway I returned to the oem line.

Crimp the connector on your pressure sender. The piece of tubing on the turbo drain was a proper repair. It has no effect on your oil pressure and is unrelated to your gauge mis-readings.

when the car is completely cold (sat overnite) the oil pressure will go up midway between normal and high where it is supposed to be. if i give it any gas or move the pressure goes down below normal and sometimes it almost saysno pressure and sometimes it almost gets to normal, but as soon as it is warm it will never go up past normal. unless im going down a long hill sometimes it will

What is it, reading or comprehension that's the trouble.

Crimp the connector on the oil pressure sender. It's loose.

Ah. Next try would be another sender, if you can get your hands on one without having to pop for new. They're too damned expensive. Do a continuity test on the sender wire, too.

FIXED!!! i took my oil pan off and banged the dents out put a new gasket on and a new sender. fixed it. thanks guys!
