[RESOLVED] Oil pressure low?

Ok ill try to explain this the best i can.

Well i start my car and the oil gauge go's about 2/3 then after it starts to warm up it will drop. and i press on the gas and i can see the gauge rise then i come to a stop and it will drop fast to about 1/6th of the gauge its pritty close to the L. then all i do is step on gas and it will jump up to about 3/4 and drop back down to just about the L. i checked the stick and the oil is fine. is this just a normal dsm idle? 91 eagle talon tsi awd



Also, My car has been smoking for what i think is water and a lot of it to. if i drive it around pritty hard for 10 mins or so it will stop for the most part but its smokin a butt ton thanks.

What color is the smoke? How does the oil and coolant look?

The oil pressure will vary some...low at idle and high during WOT. But this sounds at first glance like you may have a head gasket issue, or maybe a blown turbo seal.

You need to do a leak down test. That will tell you exactly what is going on inside your motor.

what kinda of oil do you use ???
synthetic or conventional ....
and what weight ?
5W-30, 10W-30, 20W-50 ???

My oil pressure does that. I'm not real worried about it, because I know I could use new rings. Where is the smoke coming from and what color and smell? Could be lots of things without more info.....

Looks like water vapors and smells like exhaust like whiteish clear smoke

SEA 10W-30 castrol GXT oil =O i thought i should go all out if i tell u

thats about right for weather 60 F-90 F .....

for colder weather 50 F and below ...use 5W-30 .....

and for summer 100 F + ...maybe use 20W-50 .....

and its normal for your oil pressure to fluctuate high/low...
