Hey guys got a bit of a brain tickler for ya. My 95 gst w/stock t25, a while back I was screwing around under the hood and broke the nipple off of the BCS I thought no big thing
Id just let the vacuum line hang there (newbie move) I was getting 13 psi of boost at the intake manifold (per autometer boost gauge)(still running crappy 2G BOV) and didn't realy think too much of it, till I was at the track last night and ran a horrible 16.3 @85:cry: So after doing some research today on the forums I finnaly found out that was a bad thing, basicly the same as ripping the hose off of the WGA, so I ran a line from the nipple on the turbo housing to the WGA so now Im getting 10 psi of boost at the manifold, but the car feels Incredibly faster and pulls much harder????????Go figure, and I significantly noticed a decrease in turbo whine. You guys ever heard of this????? The only thing I can think of as far as the difference in power is maybe excessive air being pulled through the MAFS and not getting to the engine, so maybe it was running HELLA rich????? Or perhaps the turbo was spinning so fast it was seriously heatsoaking and the computer was pulling timing????? Am I right in my thinking or am I asking a stupid newbie question????? This is my first turbo DSM, so I am a little new to the concept of Boost. I had two others a 91 laser n/t and a 92 laser 1.8 n/t so Im not completely new but, lack the knowledge of the almighty turbo gods. So what do you guys think????? Perhaps this thread could keep another newbie (like me) from making the same mistake.

I was thinking about doing that, but didn't want to break anything (again)
Hold on a sec. I Think thats basicly what I did.

I dont think you have anything to worry about. I hit 30 psi last year and didnt mess up my jdm swap. I hit 30 more than once. though mine is a 6 bolt. Ask you wife please.... I need this part. If I cant get this no more shoes for you.LOL or sell something to pay for it.:thumb:

Well I could sell the wifeROFL just kidding.......since its our only car I could tell her if I don't get this part the car could die, but I think she probably knows better than that.

Dont worry about it. I bought one about a year ago and got another for free. If you pm me your address I will just ship it out. It will fit in a manilla envelope so shipping will be next to nothing.

Feebies can be nice sometimes:D

Dude thanks man, I would be eternaly indebted. Ill pm you with it, you should at least let me reimburst you for the shipping.

You can just hook on vacuum line from the turbo to the wastegate and your boost will be 16 just do that its safe.

no the boost will run spring pressure if the line is ran directly to the wga...had to do this for a minute because my (well various reasons) and it ran about 10 psi while not running that great as far as boost respnose etc because the line will alow boost pressure to get directly to the wga (essentially blowing it part of the way open before full boost is reached)....contact nxsmotorsports and get one through them if the freebie dont work out for whatever reason. 15 bucks shipped if you mention your a dsm owner and I love mine....in fact I like it better than the greddy profec ebc I was running before.

Thnx dude I will deff. use this for future refferance. you'r deff right about the decreased turbo response, but for some odd reason it's running stronger now than it did when it was running full tilt w/o any kind of control. go figure.

Yeah thats a scary thought if the car was really seeing an infinite boost situation....had to deal with the same thing when the control solenoid on my profec went out (that is the main reason I had to run wastegate pressure) and it would shoot to beyond 26 pounds just seconds after getting on the throttle....do a compression check to make sure you didnt do any damage if you were drivin the hell out of it when it was like that. But yeah Im sure after it got heat soaked it would run like crap. I never let mine get to that point. Although I did have to trace down some boost leaks afterwardsLOL glad thats all I had to deal with.

Yeah it was getting pretty bad, I was having problems getting over 90 mph (not that I would disrespect our local law enforcement in such a way) but after the little change, I got her up to 110 tonight on a back dessert road out here with no problem, totaly night and day. As far as the boost leaks go, Ive actualy been fighting them now for about 2-3 weeks, always at the turbo output. infinite boost scares me now:cry:
