I just recently made my data logging cable, and hooked it up today to my lappy, but it didn't work. I'm not getting a signal. Is there any steps taken for the emulator to pick up the port i'm on and to sync to the emulated palm...oh i'm using mmcd

I think all you need is a "null modem adapter" or a "null modem cable". It looks like a db9 serial connecter, but inside the pins are mixed around from one end to the other. It's $5-10 at a computer-geek store. You can't get it at best-buy, you'll need to find a real computer-GEEK store. If I'm right, your cable would work with a PDA, but the PDA and laptop have thier serial ports wired differently. I had the same problem. You can use the adapter cable to effectively lengthen the logger cable, or just get a little male/female adapter plug.
