I'm not sure where the plug goes, but the sensor on the water neck is the Engine Coolant Temp sensor, it tells the ECU what your coolant temp is, you need this one or your car will start like crap. The sensor on the TB just tells it when the throttle is completely closed(i think). They don't have them on 2g's, but I have one on my 1g TB and I'm pretty sure that's what it's for.

Wow instead of getting shit faced with bitches i am working on my car to nice to see someone else is joining me.

Where does that plug connect to/lead to what thing? Its to early for me.

Coolant temp sensor and tps, are the other two if you need the plugs i can get those as i have both of them sensors and plugs, the part number you can get at the local part store the plugs you will have to get from a donor cars harness.

the first picture ...that plug leads directly through the firewall on the drivers side..the other 2 sensors ill just replace from a local parts store.

You sure you arent drinking?

Thats not a TPS at all. Its called a idle control switch or sometimes a closed throttle switch. Part number MD614216 if you need it. I wouldnt get it from the dealership, just a parts car. Thats the 1gs ECUs way of knowing the throttle is closed.

As for that plug, it is a California VIN? Ive never seen that plug.

EDIT - Also, "U" isnt YOU.

by california car does it mean it has somethin to do with emissions? because it looks like it could be some kind of obd port....

Yes thats what I was implying. You dont remember removing it when you pulled the other engine?

What year engine was in the car.. and what year is in the car now?

the cars a 93 and the motor is a 91..when i removed the old engine i dont remember even touching that plug at all so im pretty sure its not necessary. its juts sitting their zip tied to somethin else. im not sure exactly where the vins from

Well the VIN shows up Mits, but not the typical number I expected.

And the confusion sets in...

I would look around the back of the block and firewall from passenger side to drivers side to make sure I wasnt just being blind, and if i didnt see anything get everything else tied up. Start it up and check for any problems.

Cruise control. Its in that general area.

Anyone else loving some Bud Light? Or are you guys just nocturnal like me?

you could be right....does the cruise control bolt onto the motor??or is it just in the general area of the throttle body??

i dont think i wouldve unplugged it than....it just seems odd to me because, its sepearte from the engine harness, and runs alone along the back side of the motor, and goes through it own hole on the drivers side firewall>>>i guess ill see when i go to crank it over!!!

I wouldnt worry about it now until you get a crazy CEL. Im pretty sure the engine will run and drive without it for now. Its just weird I havent seen a plug like that...

thanks alot, ill keep you updated, im putting the trans in tommorrow, and starting to but it back up...
