Resolved Can someone identify this part?

I was replacing my air filter today, and had to use my foot to get the hose off of the top of the air filter canister. When i did, i accidentally broke this part of this switch off (where the white is in the picture). I have no idea what the part is, or if it still works, so can one of you guys look at it and tell me
1. What does it do?
2. Do you think it still works?

For the record I dont have/need a/c, and it looks like the a/c fan switch, so if its that, then im good.
